Miscellaneous Class

Miscellaneous Dog Class

When it comes to dogs, there is a limitless possibility of different types that exist. The American Kennel Club recognizes this fact and has a miscellaneous class formed for this purpose. The directors of the kennel clubs are who decides is put into the miscellaneous group of dogs. Once the grouping is established the AKC requires “clear and categorical proof that a substantial, sustained nationwide interest and activity in the breed exists” in order to be included in their particular kennel clubs stud book. The miscellaneous class is allowed to compete and build points to earn titles in companion events as well as some performance events. The miscellaneous dog group may also compete in junior showmanship. Though the Miscellaneous Class is limited and are not eligible for championship points there are still a lot of fun things for them to participate in.
