Working Dogs

The majority of kennel clubs around the world have a working class section or working group of dogs. Each kennel club decides which breeds are included. Each group of dogs did or does some type of work. Toy sized dogs *work* great as therapy dogs. The herding group *works* their livestock, while guard dogs *work* at defending their owners and property. It is common practice now to just have a dog as a pet regardless of the group they come from. What distinguishes and puts a need to have a separate working class group of dogs, is the size of the dogs that make up the group.
