Spinone Italiani have long heads and a rugged appearance. They have square muzzles with a nose that has open nostrils and comes in flesh, white or brown shades. Their ears hang down and have a triangular shape to them. Their chests are broad and deep. The Spinone coat is a slightly tough and wiry close one, except on their faces, where the eyebrows have long stiff hairs and the cheeks and muzzle have long undercoats. Resist the urge to over-groom as soft, silky coats are not desired nor natural for the breed. Color variations include: white with brown or orange markings, solid white, and orange or brown roan with the same color markings.
